My favourite thing about the magnificent wilderness of Canada and Alaska is that it is so sparsely populated. The resourceful locals have found many ways to take advantage of all this isolation, from bear watching and helihiking to the simplicity of good food in a remote lodge. There is also the lure of the Arctic, a breathtaking region to visit during the summer months.
