The cruise also visits Meares Glacier, a huge wall of ice where it is possible to see large chunks of ice calving into the water below.
Wildlife is abundant in this area and sightings of orca and humpback whales, seals, sea otters and seabirds are common. The on-board naturalist provides interesting commentary on the many features of the region including an insight into the Exxon Valdez disaster.
