    Canada enjoys a busy schedule of festivals and events, the majority of which take place during the summer months. Perhaps the most well-known of all the annual events is the Calgary Stampede, a ten-day festival which takes place in the second week of July. Dating back to 1912, the event showcases the area’s Wild West roots, with chuck-wagon races, a rodeo, bands, dancing and exhibitions.

    There are approximately one million First Nations Canadians today. Their origins stem from the end of the last Ice Age, about 20,000 years ago, when nomadic tribes followed herds of bison and mammoth across the land bridge joining Siberia and Alaska.

Alpine Village Log Cabins

Set between the azure Athabasca River and thick spruce forest, Alpine Village Log Cabins has endless charm and lovely character. With well spaced out, cosy log cabins it is peaceful and romantic, and a stay here will leave you with special memories.

Located two kilometres south of Jasper, the heritage cottages have been meticulously refurbished and decorated to retain their original historic character. The cabins come in a variety of sizes but all have a fireplace and most have a kitchen or kitchenette. Most cabins have a private patio with a barbecue for guests to use.

Alternatively the suites are ideal for couples as they have a king bed, large bathroom and a microwave and fridge. There is also a delightful hot tub in which to relax after a day of sightseeing or activities. This is the perfect place to relax whilst exploring the beautiful Jasper area.
