    Canada enjoys a busy schedule of festivals and events, the majority of which take place during the summer months. Perhaps the most well-known of all the annual events is the Calgary Stampede, a ten-day festival which takes place in the second week of July. Dating back to 1912, the event showcases the area’s Wild West roots, with chuck-wagon races, a rodeo, bands, dancing and exhibitions.

Moraine Lake Lodge

This classic lodge is situated on the shores of Moraine Lake just 15 minutes from Lake Louise. Just outside their rooms, guests are treated to the stunning beauty of the iridescent turquoise-coloured lake and the Valley of the Ten Peaks, a sight visitors from all over the world come to see.

There are occasional naturalist presentations in the library to inform guests about the unique history and wildlife in Banff National Park. The property generates its own power and they filter and treat their own glacier fed water in order to preserve the simple wonders of the environment.

In keeping with the mountain experience, there are no telephones or televisions in the rooms, but there is a guest telephone and internet access in the lobby area.

Every room has an outdoor deck for viewing the lake and hand crafted furniture, as well as either gas or wood fires. The lodge is also home to one of the top restaurants in Banff National Park, a popular café and a gift shop.
