Day by Day

Day 1London - Calgary - Whitehorse

Fly from London via Calgary to Whitehorse in the Yukon Territory. Collect your hire car at the airport and drive the short distance to your downtown accommodation.

Day 2Whitehorse

Spend a day relaxing after your flight. You may wish to visit the Beringia Interpretive Centre, stroll along the banks of the Yukon River, visit the SS Klondike or take a white water rafting trip.

Day 3Whitehorse - Skagway

Drive from Whitehorse over the border to Skagway in Alaska. You will drive past the stunning iridescent lakes of southern Yukon and through breathtaking mountain scenery.

Day 4Skagway

Enjoy a full day to explore the small historic town of Skagway. Lying at the entrance to the Chilkoot Trail, the town rose to prominence during the Yukon gold rush of the late 1890s, and you can still visit a gold rush era tavern.

Day 5Skagway - Haines

Board the ferry in Skagway for the short and scenic crossing, across the Lynn Canal, to Haines. The afternoon is free to explore the little town.

Day 6Haines

Spend a day exploring the pretty town of Haines. There are plenty of crafts shops to wander around or, alternatively, you may wish to take an optional trip to Glacier Bay.

Day 7Haines - Haines Junction

Drive north from Haines, back into Canada, to the little town of Haines Junction. The afternoon is free for you to go cycling, canoeing or perhaps go walking.

Day 8Haines Junction

Enjoy a day to relax in the vicinity of Kluane National Park. The park itself is a vast wilderness that includes Canada's highest mountains and prolific wildlife. There are many walking trails available or you may wish to take a thrilling optional flightseeing trip.

Day 9Haines Junction - Whitehorse

Leaving behind the mountains of Kluane, drive east, through the small settlement of Champagne, back to Whitehorse.

Day 10Whitehorse - Calgary

There is time for some last minute shopping and sightseeing this morning before driving back to Whitehorse Airport to drop off your hire car prior to boarding your homeward flight.

Day 11London

Arrive back in the UK.
