When to go to Canada

This vast country experiences many varied climatic differences. In winter temperatures in the central provinces plummet well below freezing whilst the summers are generally long and hot.

The coastal regions are more equable, if generally prone to more rainfall, and the northern regions experience a very short summer, which can be surprisingly warm, usually lasting no longer than a few weeks.

As a rule of thumb, travel conditions are good from the beginning of May through to September, with the shoulder seasons offering some lovely scenery and fewer visitors.

Winter is the season to travel for some of the world’s best winter sports.
