Day 1London - Boston
Fly from the UK on a direct flight to Boston. Upon arrival make your own way to your downtown hotel. The remainder of the day is free to relax after your flight.
Boston is a large city with many enticing attractions. Explore the Freedom Trail, shop at Quincy Market, take a whale watching cruise, or visit one of the country's most famous breweries, Samuel Adams.
Take the train to the metropolis of New York. Once you arrive in central Manhattan, the remainder of the day is free to explore the "Big Apple", from the smart shops of 5th Avenue, the poignant Ground Zero memorial, and the bright lights of Times Square to the views from the Empire State Building.
Enjoy a full day exploring the "city that never sleeps". You may wish to take a horse and carriage ride around Central Park, experience the buzz of Chinatown, board a thrilling helicopter trip round the Statue of Liberty or take a sailing trip on the harbour. This evening the city's many shows, theatres and nightlife options await.
Take a train from New York to the historic city of Philadelphia. When you arrive in "Philly" the remainder of the day is yours to browse the historic downtown area.
Spend a day exploring Philadelphia. You can walk the memorial parks, visit the Liberty Bell in the informative Liberty Bell Centre or take a cruise on the river past Schuylkill River Park.
Your train journey continues with a journey from Philadelphia to Washington D.C. The afternoon is free for you to explore this accessible city. You may wish to start with the chic shops and great restaurants of the Georgetown area, or the monuments around The Mall. Highlights include the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument and, of course, the White House.
Spend a further day exploring. The Capitol Building, Martin Luther King Jr Memorial and World War Two Memorial are all located in the downtown area. There is also the superb Smithsonian Institution which is made up of 19 separate exhibits across the city, and is widely regarded as one of the world's finest museums.
There is time this morning for some last minute shopping and sightseeing before making your own way to Washington Airport at the end of your trip to board your overnight flight back to the U.K.
