Day by Day

Day 1London - San Jose

Indirect from London to San Jose where you will be met and driven to your hotel in the centre of the capital.

Day 2San Jose - Tortuguero National Park

An early start for a shared transfer from San Jose to the canals of Tortuguero National Park by coach and motor-boat via banana plantations and lush forests. This afternoon wildlife excursions with your lodge around Tortuguero. This evening if you are lucky you will have the opportunity to witness the Green sea turtles nesting on the beach (between July-Sept only)

Day 3Tortuguero National Park

Full day exploring the canals of Tortuguero in search of caimans, tropical water-birds, howler and capuchins monkeys.

Day 4Tortuguero National Park - Arenal Volcano

This morning take a shared journey by boat and road up to smoking Arenal volcano.

Day 5Arenal Volcano

This morning take a shared excursion to the Arenal Hanging bridges - a beautiful canopy walkway tour amongst the rainforest. Late this afternoon visit Eco-Termales hot springs for a soak amongst the stars, with dinner included.

Day 6Arenal Volcano

At Leisure to relax by the hotel pool admiring the view or take one of the many local excursions on offer such as horse-riding, kayaking, zip-lining, walking or visiting Arenal national park.

Day 7Arenal Volcano - Monteverde Cloud Forest

This morning take the shared transfer by bus and boat across Lake Arenal in a stunning journey to the Monteverde Cloud Forest.

Day 8Monteverde Cloud Forest

This morning take an adrenaline ride through the tree tops of the cloud-forest by zip-line. This afternoon at leisure to walk the cloud-forest trails surrounding you hotel or to take a guided night walk.

Day 9Monteverde Cloud Forest

At leisure to explore the trails and spot the quetzal in the Monteverde or Santa Elena cloud-forest reserve. Alternatively visit the nearby frog and butterfly gardens.

Day 10Monteverde Cloud Forest - Playa Potrero

Take a shared transfer from Monteverde to the Guanacaste coast to relax and enjoy a few days at the beach.

Shared transfer back to San Jose in time to connect with your flight back to the UK
