Fly indirect to Costa Rica today.
Your guide will be waiting to greet you at the airport for the short journey to your hotel for the evening outside San Jose.
This morning take a shared transfer to the Arenal Volcano region, one of the world`s most active volcanoes.
Enjoy a shared excursion today to the Cano Negro Wildlife refuge, where you will enjoy a fascinating boat journey along the Rio Frio in search of sloth, caiman, lizards, tropical birds, monkeys and turtles as well as a diverse range of other wildlife that is abundant in the lush rainforest and wetlands.
Day at leisure to experience some of the many other optional activities available in the region - enjoy a nature walk along Arenal`s complex of 15 Hanging Bridges, take advantage of the energetic kayaking & rafting, or simply have a relaxing soak in the hot springs.
Today you will take a shared transfer by road and boat across Lake Arenal to the Monteverde Cloud Forest region.
At leisure to enjoy the wide range of activities on offer in this nature and adventure hub. Explore the forest trails in search of birds and monkeys, and then return after dark to see the forest come alive with amphibians, insects, bats and maybe even the odd tarantula!
Take a shared transfer this morning to Manuel Antonio on the Pacific Coast.
Day at leisure in Manuel Antonio - we highly recommend an early morning nature walk in the National Park to look for sloth, white faced capuchin monkeys, enormous iguanas and lizards followed by a cooling swim in the turquoise sea.
Day 9Manuel Antonio - Quepos - Puerto Jimenez - La Leona
You will be driven this morning to the nearby landing strip for a scenic flight to the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica`s jewel in the crown for wildlife. The journey to your tented camp ends with a walk along a remote beach where you may be lucky enough to see the scarlet macaws in flight along the coast.
Day 10La Leona
At leisure in the Osa Peninsula - enjoy a challenging walk in the renowned Corcovado National Park and look for rare mammals such as the squirrel monkey, ocelot and elusive tapir amongst many other species.
Day 11La Leona
Another day to enjoy the activities around La Leona - hike to a nearby forest trail to look for more curious tropical mammals such as coatis and agoutis and enjoy a cooling swim in the Madrigal river. Evening activities are also available such as spotting the sea turtles in nesting season.
Day 12La Leona
Final day at La Leona - you may just wish to simply relax in your beachfront hammock or explore the local trails at the camp where monkeys swing through the trees and jaguar have been known to make an occasional appearance.
Day 13La Leona - Puerto Jimenez - San Jose
An early start to make your way out of the camp along the beach followed by a road transfer to Puerto Jimenez airport. Upon arrival in San Jose you will be transferred across town to the international airport in time for your indirect flight back to London.
