Feria del Cedral in Mexico: 10-04-2008

Every May, Mexicans celebrate the Feria del Cedral, a holy festival that brings together many forms of traditional celebration.
Taking place at the Mayan settlement of El Cedral, locals commemorate the Day of the Holy Cross with a series of traditional rituals.
Cattle exhibitions, rodeos and bullfights can all be expected during the event, which is in remembrance of the arrival in Cozumel of families who travelled to the island to escape the mainland during the Guerra de Castas.
Visitors who get the opportunity to attend the event will also note a large number of food stalls and dancing, as well as games.
