Mexica New Year: 10-03-2008
Visitors to Mexico City in March will be able to join in celebrations of the ancient Mexica calendar's New Year. Taking place in the city's main square, el Zocalo, revellers in fancy headdresses dance the night away, with women covering shells in perfume before blowing them to pay homage.
The days leading into the end of the year are set aside for meditation and reflection, giving travellers plenty of time to relax and enjoy their trip to Mexico.
