The 'Rhythm, Colour and Flavour' of Mexico: 04-12-2007

This December, San Jose del Cabo celebrates Mexican food in nine-day festival taking place in the region.
Rhythms, Colours and Flavours is the name of the event and holidaymakers can take a leisurely stroll round the town centre to try out the Mexican dishes on offer.
Live music provides the event's 'rhythm' with trios and rancheros accompanying bolero singers to give visitors and locals a display of traditional music.
Local restaurants cook their speciality dishes for all to enjoy and sample, making the event a great way to try some original Mexican cuisine and representing the 'flavour' of the event.
The festival also features a moonlit evening on Tule Beach where more food is prepared, often by the chefs from local hotels in view of the sea.
From tortillas to tacos, Mexican food has something for all tastes and the gastronomic festival is no different.
Most traditional Mexican dishes are bright and colourful and based on pre-hispanic traditions including the Aztecs and Maya as well as Spanish influences.
