The oldest bones in Mexico: 09-09-2008

Scientists in Mexico believe they may have recovered the oldest set of human remains ever recorded in the Americas.
Painstakingly excavated from an underwater cave over the course of the past four years, 'Eva de Hahoron's' skeleton is believed to date back to around 13,600 years ago, reports National Geographic.
There are also three other sets of remains in the same cave and scientists are hoping that the skeletons could provide answers to an age-old question, according to lead archaeologist and Desert Museum, Saltillo, director Arturo Gonzalez.
"We don't now how [the people whose remains were found in the caves] arrived and whether they came from the Atlantic, the jungle, or inside the continent," he told National Geographic.
"But we believe these finds are the oldest yet to be found in the Americas and may influence our theories of how the first people arrived."
Travellers keen on Mexican history will be waiting with baited breath to find out if the discovery may fundamentally alter the timeline of settlement in the Americas.
