We suggest a chauffeur-guide rather than self-drive as Mexican roads can be hazardous and because of its sheer size we often suggest internal flights where appropriate. Our consultants all have first-hand knowledge of the country so are well able to advise on the best places to go.
We recommend you do not try to cover the whole country in one visit but rather focus on a few areas, taking the time to absorb the culture and atmosphere. The visitor infrastructure in parts of the country is well-developed with good service, first class road networks and high accommodation standards but in other areas the opposite is true.
So, take an open mind, a good sense of humour and a relaxed attitude to make the most of this captivating country.

There is no shortage of hotels in Mexico but they are often large, lacking in character, badly located and offering poor service. Finding characterful accommodation can be a little tricky, however, our specialists have hand-picked those that offer an authentic and personal experience, and are in keeping with the tone and atmosphere of the area you are visiting. They range from the most luxurious to the most basic, depending on your requirements and the part of the country you are in. The Pacific coast, Baja and the Mayan Riviera have some of the most beautiful and deluxe properties of all the Americas while the colonial cities have some gorgeous restored mansions.
