Accommodation in Cuba: Florida Hotel

Our Rating: Simple

Florida Hotel

Havana

The Hotel Florida is a fine example of Havana's numerous charming colonial hotels. As with many of its sister properties the hotel is part of a long list of 19th century buildings which have been carefully restored in the beautifully resurrected old part of the city, Havana Vieja.

The Florida is located on a busy corner of Calle Obispo, one of Havana's most famous streets and is just a few metres from the serene Plaza de Armas. The impressive lobby and elegant colonial architecture are a legacy of its past as a residence of renowned families and wealthy businessmen which made it one of Havana's many famous hotels.

The simple rooms are not what you would expect when walking into the beautiful lobby; however they are clean, comfortable and have en suite bathrooms and air-conditioning.

All profits of the hotel are reinvested in the continued restoration of the city's historical centre.
