Accommodation in Cuba: La Union Hotel

Our Rating: Medium

La Union Hotel

Cienfuegos

La Union Hotel was built in 1869 and was a privately owned mansion. It has been painstakingly restored and is now one of the most comfortable historic hotels outside Havana.

It is located just one block from the main square, Parque Marti and has a rooftop bar area offering great views over the cities colonial buildings to the beautiful bay and north-east to the Sierra del Escambray on the horizon.

There is plenty of history, charm and character with rattan furniture throughout the lobby and two grand courtyards. The standard rooms are quite small but are well presented and very comfortable with nice bathrooms.

The suites do not cost much more and are very spacious with neat tiled floors. There is also a well maintained swimming pool.
