Acatenango Volcano Hike
Antigua, Guatemala
An early morning transfer takes you to the foothills of the twin-peaked volcano called Acatenango where you will begin your long but rewarding hike, taking approximately six hours.
Trek through open fields, farmland and pacific cloudforest with spectacular views over the Antigua valley area. The tree line ends at around 3,300 metres and from there you are just a 30 minute hike from the peak, where you can enjoy lunch. On a clear day you will be able to see right across the country to nearby volcanoes and even as far as Lake Atitlan.
After lunch, you return to base, where your vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to Antigua.
