Excursions in Guatemala: San Pedro Volcano Hike
Embark on a challenging hike through patchwork fields and beautiful cloudforest to the top of San Pedro volcano. Enjoy a delicious lunch near the summit whilst gazing out across Lake Atitlan and the towering peaks of the surrounding mountains.

Your tour will begin with a boat transfer to the town of San Pedro from where a pick-up truck will take you to the San Pedro visitor centre to begin your hike.
You will hike to the top of the volcano (almost 3,000 metres above sea level), climbing through patchwork fields and beautiful cloud forest. The climb to the top should take approximately three to four hours.
On a clear day, which can never be guaranteed, you will enjoy magnificent views over Lake Atitlan to the distant mountains and volcanoes whilst having lunch. In the afternoon, you will descend back down the volcano for your return transfer to your hotel.
This is a challenging hike and a good level of fitness is required along with comfortable walking shoes, waterproofs and sunscreen.
