This quirky resort that takes its unusual name from the owner's yacht is not a normal beach resort and offers a unique appeal and charm. Pelican Eye's is quite a large complex but feels much smaller as it is well laid out over a hillside on different levels.
It overlooks the charming little seaside town of San Juan del Sur on Nicaragua's beautiful Pacific coast and the views are excellent from any of the resorts swimming pools and restaurants. The rooms, studios and villas are luxuriously appointed and designed in an appealing style.
Service is very welcoming and friendly and although it is not located directly on the town's beach boat trips to more picturesque, deserted beaches can easily be arranged. Pelican Eye's also supports the local community by providing hundreds of jobs and it runs a foundation which directly benefits the local people. It even has a clinic for injured and abused wild and domestic animals.
