India gets early Bond premier18808391Travellers in India with a love for James Bond will be able to see 007 in action again before it hits US screens.

Sony Pictures Releasing India has announced that the new Bond flick will first be shown in India on November 7th, making it the first ever Hollywood film to premier in the country prior to the US premier.

Despite the UK premier falling on October 31st, the Indian premier of Quantum of Solace will attract global attention due to its ground breaking release date.

Sony Pictures Releasing India managing director Kercy Daruwala explained that the move was aimed at capitalising on the Diwali (Hindu festival of light) festivities.

"Previously all markets other than the UK were to have a day-and-date release on November 7th, but the US division has postponed its release by a week," she said.

"November 7th works for us in India because we can still capitalise on the tail end of the Diwali vacations."

Travellers will be able to enjoy the English-language version of the film, while locals will also be able to choose from Hindi, Tamil and Telugu-dubbed versions of the Casino Royale follow-up.

The film is the second in the Bond series to star Layer Cake actor Daniel Craig.
