Rolling Stone gathers musical moss: 18-09-2008

Travellers in India heading to the annual Rajasthan International Fold Festival in Jodhpur next month will likely see a familiar face.
Rolling Stones frontman Sir Mick Jagger has been confirmed as a patron of the event, which runs from October 10th to October 14th.
Festival director Divya Bhati explained that he saw Sir Mick's patronage as a major coup for the festival.
"We are thrilled that Sir Mick Jagger has agreed to be a patron of Jodhpur JRIFF. It's a major boost for the festival," he told the Times of India.
Sir Mick attended last year's event and spoke of his pleasure at seeing folk artists and established acts sharing the stage.
He said that India offers an interesting variety of music and that Jodhpur JRIFF had the correct balance.
"I feel such festivals give a great platform to folk artists in terms of exposure and economic benefits," he said.
"India is such a vast changing country where Indian music has a huge mosaic of styles."
