A backpacking trip when he was just 18 firmly embedded the travel bug in Joe's system. After completing a degree in photography, Joe spent six months exploring South East Asia. This led him to an advisory position with a student travel agent. In 2007 Joe was on the road again, this time in India, a country he immediately fell in love with. Here he found time to trek in the mighty Himalaya, snorkel in the seas off Goa and get hopelessly lost in the colourful backstreets of Varanasi. Since joining Audley Joe has returned to India twice, first visiting the fascinating southern states of Kerala and neighbouring Tamil Nadu, and more recently travelling through Delhi, Agra and into Rajasthan. Outside of work Joe enjoys cycling, football, squash and photography.
Kate's desire to travel the world was inspired by her father's stories of living in Africa and the Middle East in the 1970's. Deciding to study geography for her degree was a given for Kate, and her passion for international development provided her with the opportunity to complete her dissertation research on migration patterns in Sumatra, Indonesia. After graduating Kate was off again, this time to India. She lived in Bangalore for 10 months working as a fundraiser for an international disability organisation. Trying to deepen her understanding of the place she found so fascinating, Kate visted places all over India. Since joining Audley, Kate has returned to south India, spending the majority of time in Kerala, which she loves. In her spare time, she enjoys photography, cooking and horse riding.
Tales of her grandparents' intrepid journeys across India inspired Rebecca to follow in their footsteps. From her first visit - teaching in a remote village - she was hooked and soon returned, this time to the frenetic city of Calcutta where she worked as a journalist for an Indian newspaper. This experience was followed by a Masters in South Asian Studies, thereby cementing her obsession with India! Since joining Audley, Rebecca has returned to India following extensive tours that allow her to specialise in Rajasthan and Southern India. She has experienced the multitude of activities that India offers, from beaches and tea plantations to wildlife treks and religious sites. Rebecca has recently visited Sri Lanka where she enjoyed the fabulous diversity of this beautiful island. When not travelling, Rebecca enjoys dance, reading, and planning her future trips!
