On This Trip
- Visit Meherangarh Fort in Jodhpur
- Go horse riding in Rohet
This route takes in the Rajasthani countryside, staying in smaller hotels that support local communities and are helping to rescue crumbling buildings from ruin. By passing through the main cities rather than staying in them you will have the chance to experience a slower, though no less colourful, way of life.
Extensions
A possible extension to this trip would be a week in the foothills of the Himalayas, heading north east to walk between, and stay in, village houses, giving you the chance to see a different side to rural India. Shimla is just a short flight and drive away and the luxury offered at Wildflower Hall could be the perfect end to your trip.
