Tailor Made Holidays in Nepal: Nepal's Wildlife

The diverse wildlife of Nepal

Interactive wildlife map

When most people think of Nepal, they usually think of the dramatic mountain landscapes.

So it will come as a surprise to many that Nepal is also home to tigers, leopards, wild cats, elephants, rhinos, monkeys, deer and even crocodiles. Add to this list a variety of bird life and you can see that there is more to a trip to Nepal than just admiring the scenery.

The river plains and steaming jungle of Chitwan, for example, hosts one of the largest populations of the rare Bengal tiger, along with the one-horned rhinos and wild elephants that are best viewed on elephant-back safaris.

The wildlife camps we use offer good food and knowledgeable guides, and it is also possible for the more adventurous to spend a night camping in the jungle.
