While most would associate macho experiences with sports or strength, a new poll has found that culture also tops men's to-do list.
A poll from askmen.com asked gentlemen to state their top ten exhilarating activities for 2008, and a culture choice with a physical element came out top.
Men most wanted to take a trek to an Everest base camp in Nepal - a journey that is full of culture and tradition as well as a physical challenge.
To make their way to the South Base Camp in Nepal, travellers start at Kathmandu before making their way to Lukla and then up the Kjumbu Valley towards the camp.
They can expect to experience some breathtaking mountain scenery on their journey as well as icefall, Sherpa villages, the Namche Bazaar and some Buddhist monasteries.
All these experiences demonstrate the depth of culture at the fingertips of those travelling to Nepal, including men looking to take on a gruelling but cerebral challenge.
