Visit Everest
Pangboche (3,985m) used to be the highest permanently occupied village in the Khumbu until tourism created a demand for lodges higher up the valley towards Base Camp. It is a pleasant village with great views and an old monastery which you can look around. The village is mostly surrounded by farmed fields, growing vegetables for the lodges.
