Vil Uyana, Sigiriya

This is Sri Lanka's first stilted resort that creates it own wetland system. Twenty-five detached 'dwellings' are set within twenty-three acres of abandoned paddy fields through which water flows. The property overlooks Sigriya Rock and consists of four different habitats: Paddy, Marsh, Water and Forest. The resort has a modern Thai / Balinese feel with the emphasis on open spaces and nature. The paddy and marsh dwellings are on stilts and are split-level. Some of these rooms have plunge pools. All paddy rooms are connected by raised teak walkways across the rice fields. The water dwellings are also on stilts and are split-level. The forest dwellings are not above water but are duplex. All rooms come with an entertainment system and are appointed to a high standard. The bathrooms are modern with large funky polished concrete baths. All rooms have separate balconies for dining and sunbathing.
