One of the first resorts to open up in the Maldives the resort is still known from its time when it was catering towards the package traveller. This was the case until recently, when it was decided to rebuilt the resort and cater for the discerning traveller instead. This truly amazing achievement has lead to Baros now standing out when it comes to quality, service and luxury, offering a real Maldives experience.

The island is small and idyllic and with only 44 Beach Villas in two categories and 30 well designed Water Villas, this is one of the more intimate resorts in the North Male Atoll. The island comes with all the amenities and facilities one would expect from a resort that is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World Group. All of the 74 air conditioned villas are designed with luxury in mind. The Water Villas are made entirely of wood and have fabulous views of the ocean. The Beach Villas are private and set just back from the beach with stunning bathrooms. All are spacious, have coconut-thatch roofs and have a very romantic air about them.

Arriving at Baros is a special sight. After a short ride by speedboat you will approach this lush, green, palm-fringed island, a string of villas are dotted out in the shallow blue water. Over water restaurants reach out just across from the jetty where you will be met by attentive staff and a cool tropical drink. You choose the pace on Baros, snorkel around the reef in the warm clear water or get involved in some serious scuba diving. Take a sunset cruise, go island hopping or big game fishing. Alternatively sample some pure relaxation on the pristine beach or treat yourself to a spa treatment or two (subject to change).
