Day 1London
Fly this evening from London to Delhi.
After a short layover in Delhi, board your onward flight to Kathmandu. On arrival you will be met and driven to your hotel. The rest of the day will be at leisure.
This morning you will have a private guided tour of Kathmandu city. You will have a chance to wander round the beautiful Durbar Square with its traditional pagoda temples and then head to the "Monkey Temple", Swayambhunath, a huge Buddhist stupa set on a hill. In the afternoon you will drive to Pashupatinath, Nepal's most important Hindu Temple, which is a popular place for cremations, since the Bagmati River, on which it is set, is sacred to Hindus. Close by is Bodnath Stupa, a large Buddhist temple where a small Tibetan community has sprung up.
Today you will fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara. If the weather is clear the mountain views are very impressive. On arrival in Pokhara the rest of the day will be at leisure. Pokhara has a number of nice restaurants, the International Mountain Museum, and plenty of shops for browsing. You could also take a rowing boat out on the lake.
Today will be the first day of your trek. You leave early and be driven to the trek start point. From here you will leave the road far behind you and walk mostly next to the beautiful Modi Khola river before reaching your Lodge at lunchtime. The rest of the day will be yours to wander the local area and the local life in the village.
Today is the big day of your trek! Your lodge this evening is at a higher altitude than the start point, so you will have quite a bit of uphill today. You will walk through a number of small remote villages, and see many hill people hard at work. In the evening, weather permitting, you will have fantastic mountain views from your lodge, and will certainly be very well looked after by the staff there.
Today will be the third day of your trek. You will start the day with a cup of "bed tea" and watch as the sunrise bathes the vast white mountains in a golden glow. After a filling breakfast you will start on you walk, which will be mostly downhill until you reach the river. After crossing the river you will climb a bit again, until you reach the lodge, which also has great views.
Today will be the last day of your trek. You will hike up to the ridge and then over it and down to the road head. Here you will be met and driven back to Pokhara. You will be taken to your hotel for the night and will be back in time for lunch.
Day at leisure in Pokhara.
Today you will drive to Chitwan National Park. You will find yourself dropping in altitude, and the landscape will become more tropical and jungle clad. Once you have settled into your lodge the guest representative will have a chat to you about what activities you wish to do over the duration of your stay here. You should have time for one jungle activity this afternoon.
Today you will have a full day exploring the park. There are plenty of activities, including jungle walks, elephant safaris, river safaris and jeep safaris.
This morning you should have the time to do another activity, before leaving the jungle for your flight back to Kathmandu. On arrival you will be met and taken to your hotel.
This morning you have an early start; you will be transferred to the airport in plenty of time to catch your return flights via Delhi, arriving home the same day.
