Mende is a small village up on the hillside overlooking the valley leading to Thame (site of a big Hydro-electric project which supplies hundreds of houses in the area around Namche) and finally Tibet.
There is a small buddhist chorten here which is surrounded by dozens of beautifully carved mani stones.
The views across to the mountains are fantastic.
