Fly from London to Colombo over night.
On arrival in Colombo you will be met by your private driver and air-conditioned car who will take you directly to Dambulla, in the heart of the ancient cities.
Enjoy this afternoon relaxing.
Today visit the old capital of Anuradhapura and Mihintale considered to be the birthplace of Buddhism in Sri Lanka.
Visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress followed by an excursion to see the fascinating ancient city of Polonnaruwa. For three centuries this was the royal capital of both the Chola and Singhalese kingdoms.
En-route to Kandy you will visit the Dambulla Cave Temples and upon your arrival in the hill town and visit to the Temple of the Tooth will compliment the day.
Today you will visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens just outside Kandy and the Millenium Elephant Foundation where they look after retired elephants.
Today you will be taken to the station where you will catch your train to Nuwara Eliya, an incredibly scenic journey through the central hills which will take around 4.5 hours. This afternoon you will visit a local tea factory, where you will learn all about the process of making tea.
Enjoy an 8km walk in Horton Plains National Park, which are exotic moorlands. You should catch a glimpse of Adam's Peak if you are lucky.
You will head east today to visit the Yala National Park. This will be a long but incredibly scenic journey. With stops it should take most of your day so enjoy your evening at leisure.
Today you will enjoy a morning and afternoon jeep safari. Hopefully you will get to see lots of wildlife, including the illusive leopard.
You will be driven around the south coast towards Galle today, you should get to see the iconic stilt fishermen if you are lucky. Upon arrival your guide will show you around the colonial heart of the city.
