A relaxing or romantic break is not complete without a rejuvenating spa treatment, so it is no surprise that the resorts that we work with have great spa facilities. Huvafen Fushi has an underwater spa with windows looking straight out onto the reef.

Accommodation in The Maldives: Baros Maldives

A luxurious and friendly resort ideal for the discerning traveller looking for a true Maldives experience.

Our Rating: Deluxe

Baros Maldives

One of the first resorts to open in the Maldives, Baros was more recently completely rebuilt and since it re-opened has stood out in terms of quality, service and luxury, while retaining its friendly atmosphere and following of devoted repeat visitors.

The island is small and idyllic and with 39 Beach Villas in two categories, 30 well designed Water Villas and five Pool Villas, this is one of the more intimate resorts in the North Male Atoll. Baros comes with all the amenities and facilities one would expect from a resort that is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World Group.

All of the 74 air-conditioned villas are designed with luxury in mind. Situated just back from the beach with stunning bathrooms that extend into a courtyard garden, the Beach Villas offer plenty of privacy while the Water Villas are made entirely of wood, have direct access to the lagoon and fabulous views of the ocean. All are spacious, have coconut-thatch roofs and a very romantic air about them.

Arriving at Baros and seeing it for the first time is quite special. After a short ride by speedboat you will approach this lush, green, palm-fringed island with its string of villas dotted above the shallow blue water. Over water restaurants reach out from across the jetty where you will be met by attentive staff and a cool tropical drink.

You choose the pace on Baros: snorkel around the reef in the warm clear water or get involved in some serious scuba diving; take a sunset cruise, go island hopping or big game fishing. Alternatively, sample some pure relaxation on the pristine beach or treat yourself to a spa treatment or two (subject to change).
