Dahab is one of the most relaxed towns in Egypt. Located on the Red Sea coast, it is surrounded by mountains and stretches of beach, with wind and waves that have drawn the windsurfing communities here. They have perpetuated the laid-back atmosphere that grew in the town during the sixties, when this undiscovered gem was a favourite retreat of artists, musicians and backpackers.
A spell in Dahab offers the chance to unwind and get off the tourist-trail a bit. More people are discovering the town, but it still retains a laid-back and relaxing atmosphere.
