Mount Toubkal Charity Trek
As part of our commitment to charity, in May 2007 we invited a group of clients to join a fundraising trek to the summit of Morocco’s Mount Toubkal.
-
The hotel Kasbah du Toubkal was a remote but perfect base for the start of the treck
-
At 4,167 metres Jebel Toubkal is North Africa’s highest peak and the group's objective
-
Audley's Nick Coates leads the way
-
On the lower slopes the landscape is surprisingly green with vegatation
-
The hot weather means a much needed stop and a chance to take on water
-
As the day goes on the group spreads out but the objective is still clearly visible
-
As the climb gets higher the views become ever more spectacular
-
The path meanders towards a remote Berber village up ahead
-
The village takes on a picture postcard quality thanks to the stunning backdrop
-
The Atlas mountains are home to numerous mud-brick Berber villages like this one
-
The rise in evalvation means both warmer clothing and quickly changing weather
-
The group nears the summit but the going is a lot harder now
-
Success! Audley staff and clients pose for a picture on the summit of Mount Toubkal
