Al Moudira
Luxor
Built on the outskirts of Gezira, a small village on the west bank at Luxor, Al Moudira is an oasis of calm away from the touts and trinket sellers of the town.
Built by a Lebanese lady, it is just about the only hotel in Egypt with a truly Arab sense of style. Moorish arches and peaceful courtyards give the feel of an Ottoman palace, and the colours used are those found in the nearby tombs and temples.
In the rooms, high ceilings and traditional designs and furniture complete the sense of a luxurious retreat after a busy day’s sightseeing.
