Although quite easily the ugliest building in Aswan, perched like an airport control tower in the middle of the Nile, the Movenpick is actually a very pleasant place to stay. On one of the islands in the river, it boasts excellent views and beautiful gardens.

There are good sports facilities and, thanks to an extensive renovation project, the refurbished rooms are very tastefully finished and the new swimming pool is without question Aswan's finest.

Renovation work is still being undertaken at this hotel; the Nile Wing is yet to re-open and the gym and spa are not yet ready. Disruption to guests is minimal and the improvements made so far make this hotel one of the best choices in Aswan.
