Colonnaded House, Ptolemais
Although very little excavation has been done here the importance of Ptolemais is immediately evident.
Vast cisterns, once the largest in North Africa with a capacity of 6 million litres of water, were supplied by a 25 kilometre aqueduct. A small museum houses some mosaics and statues, whilst more can be found in situ.
The Villa of Columns, perhaps once the governors residence, is a fine example of a grand Roman home.
