The Road to Ruins
The number of well-preserved Roman sites across North Africa and Arabia is exceptional and no holiday to these destinations would be complete without visiting at least one of these historic monuments.
With the exception of Oman, every country in our North Africa and Arabia brochure knew the tramp of legionary boots and toga-clad governors, and the Roman narrative from the early days of the republic, through to the collapse of the Empire, can be traced through the basilicas, mosaics, forums and amphitheatres still standing and demanding our attention.
From Voloubilis in Morocco right through to Palmyra in Syria, the Roman Empire's influence can be felt and seen across many of the North African countries.
Take a look at our interactive map on the following page to learn more about these sites.
