Mansouriya
Aleppo
There have been several converted houses carefully done in Aleppo, but none with the care and attention which have come to make Mansouriya the city's stand-out place to stay.
The renovation of the 17th century house, centrally located not far from either Aleppo's covered souqs or the Bab Qennesrin Gate into the old town, took a full seven years before it opened in 2002. Now, the nine suites are a bastion of calm and luxury.
Three suites sit on the first floor looking into a central courtyard with covered seating areas, while three occupy the next floor, and the last three are tucked behind the restaurant and Jacuzzi areas - all are fabulously decorated, endowed with unique character, including opulent bathrooms with marble baths cut to shape on site.
The Jacuzzi and Hammam exude the same charm and provide a chance to relax, while the restaurant, built underground, serves food exclusively to the hotel's guests.
