Visit majestic Persepolis

Dating back to around 518 BC, Persepolis was Darius the Great's ancient capital in the days of the first Persian Empire, and is still an incredibly imposing and majestic site. Although ruined, it is still possible to view and make out large parts of the city. Probably the most impressive are the detailed carvings on the Apadana staircase, where it is possible to see processions of soldiers and delegations of peoples from as far away as Ethiopia and India bringing tribute to the Archaemenid king.
