Henrietta Chapman, North & Central Asia Specialist Georgia's tremendous food, wonderful hospitality and unparalleled mountain scenery captured my heart and I would go back time and again to this enigmatic country.

We currently cannot send travellers to Georgia due to the ongoing situation. We hope to resume our operations there shortly once the situation has improved.

Imagine a country where ancient tribes still barricade themselves up in the high passes, where powerful neighbouring countries are held in open contempt and where people still openly lament the passing of native Georgian Iosef Dzugashvili, aka Stalin. Welcome to Georgia, perhaps the most enigmatic and fascinating country of the former USSR. For those in search of undiscovered gems, try Tbilisi, an intoxicating mixture of oldtown Istanbul and grandiose St Petersburg. To the west is ancient Kutaisi, old capital of Colchis, to which Jason and the Argonauts sailed to capture the Golden Fleece; and to the north are the highest parts of the Greater Caucasus, loftier and more remote than the Alps.
