Discover traditional life amongst the hustle and bustle of modern Beijing.
What you include on a first time visit to China will depend on your particular interests, as well as on how much time you have. For most people though, any first time trip will include the classic sites of the Great Wall and Forbidden City in Beijing, the Terracotta Warriors in Xian, as well as the pretty limestone karst scenery of the Guilin area.
These can be combined into a 10-12 day trip, or with the addition of Shanghai or Hong Kong, a longer 14-15 day trip.
Given the size of the country, the best way of getting round is by plane, though there are some options for overnight trains. China’s domestic flight network is now modern and efficient, with a fleet of new Boeing and Airbus aircraft.
