Accommodation in Japan: Iwaso Ryokan

Our Rating: First Class

Iwaso Ryokan

Miyajima Island

The Iwaso Ryokan is a beautiful ryokan, surrounded by woods or Momijidani, the maple tree park, which is a sea of colour in spring and autumn.

The Inn is a 10 minute walk south of Itsukushima Shrine. The ryokan receives many foreign guests, and this is reflected in its inclusion of more convenient amenities such as western-style chairs and lifts along with its traditional Japanese furnishings. Many of the rooms have lovely views of the surrounding woodland, and the peaceful atmosphere allows for an extremely relaxing stay.

There is a wonderful large bathhouse and the owners are extremely helpful and friendly. Vegetarians are welcome.
