The Fujiya Hotel

The first Western-style hotel in all Japan, the Fujiya was originally built for foreign travellers at the end of the nineteenth century.

The hotel is made up of different wings constructed at various times over the past 100 years. Each of the four wings has its unique period and character, but we think the Flower Palace (built in the 1930s) is the most pleasant, with its wonderful views over the garden and large rooms furnished with classic solid teak furniture.

The hotel has indoor and outdoor swimming pools, male and female onsens for thermal bathing, two restaurants and a famous tea lounge.
