Day by Day

Day 1London

Fly from London to Tokyo direct, arriving the following day

Day 2Tokyo

You arrive in Tokyo, and will be met by our representative and shown to the correct limousine bus to take you to your city centre hotel.

Day 3Tokyo

Have a day in Tokyo to further explore at your leisure.

Day 4Tokyo

Make your way to Nikko, a UNESCO World Heritage Site home to spectacular shrines and lakeside scenery.

Day 5Tokyo - Tsumago

Travel by bullet train and local lines to Tsumago, a quiet post town in the Kiso Valley. This afternoon walk along the scenic Nakasendo Highway, which once connected Kyoto and Edo (Tokyo) in the 1800s.

Day 6Tsumago - Hiroshima

Take the train back to Nagoya and then travel south to Hiroshima.

Day 7Hiroshima

Have a full day to explore Hiroshima and nearby Miyajima island, with its "floating" torii gate.

Day 8Hiroshima - Kyoto

Take the bullet train to Kyoto and in the afternoon visit a local home for an introduction to the traditional cultural pastime of your choice.

Day 9Kyoto

Explore Kyoto at your own pace, including the Golden Pavilion, Nijo castle and some of the beautiful landscaped temple gardens.

Day 10Kyoto

Take a day trip out to nearby Nara to see the Todaiji Buddha and tame deer park. In the evening you will be escorted on a walk around the Gion Geisha quarters with an English speaking guide.

Day 11Kyoto - Hakone

Transfer to the Hakone National Park area by bullet train and local lines. You have the rest of the day to explore at your own pace.

Day 12Hakone

Explore the park's scenic spots and the wonderful Open Air Sculpture museum today.

Day 13Hakone - Tokyo

Return to Tokyo using your rail pass, for your final afternoon at leisure in Japan.

Day 14Tokyo

Take the limousine bus to Narita airport for your flight back to the UK.
