Day by Day

Day 1London

This afternoon fly from London to Tokyo. You will arrive the following morning.

Day 2Tokyo

On arrival into Japan and having cleared customs you will be met by one of our representatives who will show you to your private transfer into the city. Spend the rest of the day relaxing after your flight.

Day 3Tokyo

Enjoy a full day of private guiding starting at the lively fish market before taking in Tokyo's main attractions and sights.

Day 4Tokyo

Head out of Tokyo and visit the giant, bronze Daibutsu. Weighing close to 850 tonnes and at over 11 metres tall this is Japan's second largest Budda statue and is Kamakura's most famous sight. In the late afternoon return to Tokyo and enjoy an exhilarating helicopter ride over this incredible metropolis.

Day 5Tokyo - Tsumago

Travel by bullet train and local lines to Tsumago, a quiet post town in the Kiso Valley. This afternoon walk along the scenic Nakasendo Highway, which once connected Kyoto and Edo (Tokyo) in the 1800s

Day 6Tsumago

At leisure to walk along and explore the Nakasendo Highway

Day 7Tsumago - Hiroshima

Take the train back to Nagoya and then travel south to Hiroshima.

Day 8Hiroshima

Have a full day to explore Hiroshima and nearby Miyajima island, with its "floating" torii gate.

Day 9Hiroshima - Kyoto

Travel to Kyoto. With 17 UNESCO World Heritage sites, more than 1600 Buddhist temples and over 400 Shinto Shrines, Kyoto is one of the worlds most culturally rich cities. In the late afternoon enjoy a private guided walk around the famous geisha district.

Day 10Kyoto

Enjoy a full day private tour of Kyoto with your guide. Your day finishes with an evening meal at one of the top tempura restaurants in Japan.

Day 11Kyoto

Enjoy a day learning traditional Japanese pastimes with your host and guide.

Day 12Kyoto

This morning check into your luxury ryokan before spend the rest of the day at leisure. Perhaps take in the ancient capital of Nara.

Day 13Kyoto - Hakone

Transfer to the Hakone National Park area by bullet train and local lines. You have the rest of the day to explore at your own pace or simply relax in your luxurious accommodation.

Day 14Hakone

At leisure in the Hakone National Park

Day 15Hakone - Tokyo

Return to Tokyo using your rail pass, for your final afternoon at leisure in Japan

Day 16Tokyo

Today you are transferred by private car to Narita airport in time for your flight back to the UK.
