The Japanese Alps, Japan

Located in the Northern Japan Alps, Hakuba is well regarded as one of the best ski resorts in Japan and staged the Super-G, down hill, and ski jumping events during the 1998 Winter Olympics.

All Hakuba resorts are well equipped for snowboarding and skiing. There is also a good night life and several relaxing hot springs in the area.

Summer attractions

Hakuba is also an excellent outdoor sports base in summer too. Here you can enjoy the cool mountain air after the heat of Tokyo and Kyoto and try trekking, kayaking, mountain biking, rafting and other sports at all levels.

After all that exercise, soak in one of the many hot springs that pepper the area.
