Day 1London

Fly to Beijing overnight.

Day 2Beijing

On arrival into Beijing today you are met and taken to your hotel accommodation at the heart of the city where the rest of your day is spent at leisure.

Day 3Beijing - Ulaan Baatar

Transfer back to the airport this morning in time to meet your flight on to Mongolia`s capital Ulaan Bataar. On arrival in the city you are met and taken to your hotel accommodation. The rest of your day is spent exploring the fascinating National Museum of Mongolian History and the Zaisan Memorial. This evening you enjoy a visit to a Mongolia cultural performance which includes some of the country`s most famous arts including Buddhist dancing and contortionism.

Day 4Ulaan Baatar

Enjoy a tour of the city today including a visit to the city`s wonderful Gandan Monastery complex, a working place of worship and home to a magnificent 26 metre high statue of Buddha. This afternoon you visit the Winter Palace of the Bogd Khaan. Once the residence of Mongolia`s most important spiritual leader, the palace is now somewhat faded but does contain an incredible collection of relics and artefacts. Your evening is at leisure in the capital.

Day 5Ulaan Baatar - Khustaii Nuruu National Park

Make the short drive out from Ulaan Bataar to Khustai Nuruu National Park, home to the very rare Takhi Horse species, the last surviving prehistoric horses in the world. On arrival you settle into your first ger tent accommodation and enjoy some time at leisure before heading out into the park this evening to try to spot some of the horses as they come down to feed.

Day 6Khustaii Nuruu National Park - Khogno Khan Mountain

Continue on today to the Bayangobi region and Khogno Khaan Mountain. This afternoon you enjoy a walk up to visit the Ovgon Monastery Ruins and the chance to visit the Mongol Els Dunes.

Day 7Khogno Khan Mountain - Kharakorum

Travel on to the ancient Mongolian capital of Kharakorum, once home to Gengis Khaan and now to one of the country`s most important Buddhist monasteries, Erdene Zuu. Visit the monastery on arrival this afternoon with the rest of your day spent at leisure to explore the countryside around the camp if you wish.

Day 8Kharakorum - Tsenkher Springs

Your journey continues today as you travel on into the Tsenkher Valley for an overnight stop on the way to White Lake.

Day 9Tsenkher Valley - White Lake

Today you make the somewhat long drive on to White Lake, passing the sacred Chuluut Gorge and the small town of Tariat.

Day 10White Lake

A day spent exploring the volcanic caves and the extinct volcanic crater in and around the lake.

Day 11White Lake - Jargalant

Continue North today, making your way on from White Lake to the hot spring town of Jargalant.

Day 12Jargalant - Uushigiin Uver

Today you drive on from Jargalant to the ancient deer stones at Uushigiin Uver. This evening you visit the sight with your local guide.

Day 13Uushigiin Uver - Lake Khuvsgul

Travel up to the magnificent Khuvsgul Lake today, passing through the town of Moron en route.

Day 14Lake Khuvsgul

Today is at leisure to allow you some time to relax and explore the sights in and around the lake.

Day 15Lake Khuvsgul

At leisure on Lake Khuvsgul with guide.

Day 16Lake Khuvsgul - Moron - Ulaan Baatar

Drive back to Moron today in time to meet your flight back to the capital Ulaan Bataar. On arrival in the city you are met and taken to your hotel accommodation where the rest of your day is spent at leisure.

Day 17Ulaan Baatar - Dalanzadgad - Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park

An early morning today as you fly down to Dalanzadgad, the jumping off point for the Gobi National Park. On arrival you are met and then transfer on to the Three Camels Lodge at the heart of the national park. This evening visit the `Flaming Cliffs` at Byanzag to catch them at their best in the evening twilight.

Day 18Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park - The Gobi Desert

Today you make the picturesque journey across the desert to the magnificent `singing` sand dunes at Khongoryn Els. This is a long drive but there will be opportunities to take photographs and stop off along the way. This evening you travel up to visit the dunes with your guide.

Day 19The Gobi Desert - Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park

Make your way back across the desert today, back towards the Three Camel Lodge, taking a different route which takes in the `Eagle` Canyon at Yol Am and the dramatic Dungenir Pass.

Day 20Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park - Dalanzadgad - Ulaan Baatar

Transfer back on to Dalanzadgad today in time to meet your flight back to Ulaan Bataar where the rest of your day is spent at leisure.

Day 21Ulaan Baatar - Beijing

Leaving Mongolia behind today you transfer back to the capital`s airport today in time to meet your flight back to Beijing. On arrival you are met and taken to your hotel accommodation where the rest of your day is spent at leisure.

Day 22Beijing

We will arrange for a private transfer to the airport today for you in time to meet your flight back to London.
