The drawcard for this region is the magnificent Maolin National Scenic Area, which is situated in the southeast of Kaohsiung County. The area is covered mostly in virgin forest dotted with hot springs, waterfalls and gorges, and is home to some of the island's best hiking opportunities.

As well as the Maolin National Scenic Area, the tour will also take you to the Meinong Folk Village, rich in traditional arts and crafts, and the Butterfly Valley.
