Candelaria del Monte is located in San Miguel del Monte, 120 km from the centre of Buenos Aires. It offers a range of included activities such as horse-riding and bird watching. At an additional cost and with advance warning so that we can make the arrangements with the estancia, special activities such as polo lessons or visits to matches, Argentine wine tasting, and even yoga can be organised. There are also occasional tango and native leather art workshops. The house itself has a long glassed hallway that connects different wings.
It has many colonial characteristics and the rooms have delightful individual touches, which may or may not appeal to everyone but are certainly unique. The grounds are vast and full of different kinds of trees, where it is so easy to find a corner where you can be undisturbed for hours. They also host a large swimming pool, ideal for cooling off in the Argentine summer where you should not be surprised if you are joined by Shetland ponies (although not actually in the water)!
Meals are based around the traditional Argentine 'asados' (barbecues) and 'pucheros' (stews) but they also serve Patagonian lamb and trout, and vegetarians will of course be accommodated on request. Please note that the estancia is also the home of some friendly dogs so we do recommend that guests are comfortable with this.
